I love the New Year. It is like having a clean slate to start anew. Free from the things that held us back last year, we can set new goals and make new plans. This is the time for some new thoughts and actions that will help us break through in 2008!

I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions because the track record of the average human being for breaking resolutions is pretty bleak. I do believe in building on the things that worked last year and adding in new goals, but most importantly, creating action plans to reach those goals. Since most of our workshops are designed to develop interpersonal skills, we offer our participants the opportunity to create an action plan right in the classroom. This gives them something to work on once the initial high of training wears off and they are faced with a daily routine that can easily push them back into old habits.

This year, I am working on my own action plan to set new goals and reach new heights in my personal and professional life. I have grand goals for 2008. I hope you do too!

Please see the Tips section below for help in setting and reaching your goals this year. Also, click on the link below the Tips for a template for New Year Action Plans.

Have a great week.
