I have received a lot of calls and emails this week concerning the Beyond Networking Farewell Dinner on December 7th. (Please see "events" below for details.)
Beyond Networking is a networking group for women founded, by Karen Roy and myself, almost three years ago. We truly felt it was networking with a difference - that difference was demonstrated in a few different ways:
- Our target audience was women of all walks of life - we reached out to the corporate world, the entrepreneur, the women in transition and the retired or stay-at-home moms
- Our "offer" was an opportunity to network plus learn or enhance a skill that would help with your business or in your day-to-day life
- We canvassed our audience for suggestions and then we designed and delivered presentations based on what our audience wanted to hear
- The best and truly unique feature … my daughter made wonderful homemade desserts for us to enjoy while learning and networking
It was fun. We met a lot of wonderful people. We learned and we laughed. But it was time to move on. Karen left Beyond Networking to pursue other things. I ran it for a while on my own.
My main business, Marrek Solutions Inc is growing and taking me in different directions. I had to make a choice and unfortunately Beyond Networking, as I was operating it, no longer fit into my business strategy.
It is not a bad thing - just a change in direction. I hope you will join us for our Farewell Event. Karen and I will talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of networking groups, partnerships and more! Men are welcome too!
