Summer time! Long, hot days. Outdoor activities. Children are home from school.
So how do you stay focused when you work from home? It is a whole lot easier when it is cold outside and when everyone else in the household is into their regular routine. It is a different ballgame this time of year.
Check out my personal tips below and hey, don't forget to enjoy some of this great weather. After all it is summer!

It's Summer - Stay Focused
- Stick to your regular routine as much as possible.
- Get as much done in the early morning - before your teenagers get up!
- Plan some of your activities around work - can you drop the kids off at the movies while you go visit a client?
- Meet clients at outdoor patios - enjoy the weather together.
- Close your office door.
- Put a big sign on your office door saying "Working!!" (This works for kids and husbands!)
- Remove visitors' chairs from your office.
- Make sure your extended family and friends know it is business as usual for you - prevent "drop ins"
- Maximize flex time - go for a walk or a swim in the day and work after dark
- If all this fails give them some of your work to do - nothing clears a house like delegation!
