With March Break behind us and spring fast-approaching, new beginnings are a constant theme everywhere you look. Coming out of the darkness of winter (with our early time change this year) people are awakening, shaking out the cobwebs and ramping up for the next round!
If training, for you or your employees, is something you are considering this spring, good for you! According to Anne Golden, head of the Conference Board of Canada, training is still the best way to improve productivity (Hamilton Spectator). She says that Canada is falling behind other countries in the economy category (slipping from 3rd to 12th between 2003 and 2005). We also lapsed into 17th place in productivity and performance. One of the main reasons for this is the decrease in training dollars that our businesses invest in their employees. So consider your training needs and sign up for some courses and workshops this spring. The best investment you can make is in yourself and your people!
