I have noticed lately that I am not able to see up close as well as I used to. Perhaps you can relate to my situation. I have worn glasses to correct for near-sightedness since my first year of University. I won’t say how many years that is! As I get older, I am starting to have trouble focusing on fine print up close and the last time I had my eyes examined the optician told me I was headed for bifocals! It set me to thinking about how, as the workforce ages and mandatory retirement has gone by the wayside, vision loss will require another form of “reasonable accommodation”. One thing you can do for yourself and your staff is to find out how to prevent serious vision loss and take care of your eyes. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Meghan Graham-Martin of the CNIB offers some valuable tips in the Tips section below.
