Kiss My Tiara

Your Kids Can

This time of year brings about many changes: the end of summer holidays, back to school, new routines and more urgency in your day as timeframes become more important. The laid back days of summer fade into the background.

This is true in business too. All staff will be together, back to work, and plans for the next fiscal year will be underway. Are there upcoming changes in your organization? Are you launching a new and exciting product or service? Is this the year your business will start to boom? These are the great things about change. However, as we all know, change also brings about discomfort and often…conflict.

It seems as if the pace of change has increased exponentially in the last decade. About 1500 years ago, in 500 B.C., the philosopher Heraclitus made the statement:

“The only thing that is constant is change”

So change is not new! How you cope with change is the key to getting through it with grace and reducing the stress that it can cause. We have added a new course to the Tools for Business lineup at Mohawk College called “Coping with Change” to help business people deal with these very issues. Join us on September 11 th, if you are in the midst of “Coping with Change”.

Please see the Tips section below for some of the survival techniques from the new course.
