Well I
am back from vacation! I can't say it was very restful - four kids aged
16, 13, 12 and 2 in a trailer plus my husband and I. The kids all had
a great time. I came home sick. This leads me to something I have been
thinking about for a long time.
Entrepreneurs
have to have a back up system. If you are your company and you get sick,
what happens to your clients? For example, I do recruitment. I had 4
interviews booked for Monday afternoon. What if I had fallen ill on
Monday instead of Saturday? Sure, I could have postponed the interviews
however that would have inconvenienced not only my client but the 4
candidates.
I am in
the process of training an HR Assistant (see Marrek's Moments) and a
Training Assistant. I also have friends running their own businesses
that I could call upon to teach my courses if I was unable to.
What is
your plan? If you are a one or two person show, and you have suggestions
and ideas about this that you would like to share, please e mail me
at audie@marrek.com.
Stay healthy!
Audie

Audie's
Awesome Advice:
No one
has asked me any questions this week; however I feel the need to give
advice anyway. My advice for this week is simple: READ. Read
everything you can get your hands on - business magazines, newspapers,
books. Read on line articles too.
Read to
keep yourself up to date on your area of expertise but also read about
your clients industries. The more you know about them, the better assistance
you can provide them with.
Magazines
are a good source for potential clients - study the ads and determine
who is reading the magazine. Should you be advertising in it too? Call
up a couple of the people that have placed the ads and ask if they have
paid off.
Ask
me a question and I'll provide some awesome advice!
I invite
our readers to share their success stories by emailing me at audie@marrek.com.
