The Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce

Presents With Design

Marrek Welcome

We all have different definitions of success but we all would agree that any measure of success would include peace of mind with your results. This seems like a tall order in our hectic paced, competitive business environment. How can we achieve results and peace of mind? Business success and personal success are very closely related. What are the ways in which individuals achieve peace of mind and personal success?

There has been a great deal of research and many reports that indicate the first step toward these goals is to use positive thinking or positive self-talk.

If you tell yourself over and over that you are able to reach your goals and the heights you believe you can achieve, your actions follow your thoughts. In the courses that we teach, we talk about the process that people go through that leads to their behaviour. An event leads to thoughts that, in turn, lead to feelings that lead to their behaviour.

If your thoughts bring up feelings of confidence and an “I can do it” attitude then your actions will move you in the direction of achieving your goals. The same is true of negative thoughts that reflect “I can’t”. If that is your mantra, then your actions will come from the feelings that those thoughts bring forth in you.

“If you think you can or think you can’t, you are right.”

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale “The Power of Positive Thinking.”

Research indicates that 80% of the thoughts we allow into our minds are negative. May all your thoughts be positive and may you reach all of the heights that you have the potential to reach.

Please see the Tips section below for help to harness the power of positive thinking.

Have a great week.

Lisa
